Long time, no read

We realise that we haven’t had a chance to post a proper update lately. We’re sorry, but we’ve been quite busy with both Starchaser and our other projects.

First of all, we feel we finally addressed the PowerVR problem (Galaxy & Nexus S and the Kindle Fire series). The version which has been recently uploaded to the Google Play store should work on these devices:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Starchaser.Uplift

If you’ve recently installed the game and encountered the aforementioned problems, make sure you’ve cleaned the cache first. The FPS might encounter some drop downs, but that shall be fixed once the new version of Unity is on the market.

The good news don’t stop here though. Uplift is now live and working on the Amazon AppStore too:

P.S: We haven’t forgotten about the iOS version either, but an additional level pack shall be released for Android first (we currently need more devices for proper iOS testing). Summer is getting clos, so we’re on to it!

So far, so good…

So far, Uplift has been gathering downloads within the Google Play Store. We’ve thought about submitting the application to other websites and promoting it as much as possible. Any ideas are welcome :)

We would also like to thank the websites that covered our story until present, websites such as ComputerGames, Chip, Androider, RoDroid, AndroidLive and many others which we will note as soon as possible.

While we’re at it, we should thank you, first of all!

Don’t forget to download a copy of the latest version!

Uplift is live!

With a slight delay, we’re proud to announce the first chapter of the Skylander saga: Uplift!

Without further ado, you may download the Android version of our game here:

Your feedback will greatly aid us in improving the game! Depending on it, we will offer you more “Starchaser quality” levels for Uplift and obviously, a well deserved sequel!

An iOS version is soon to come.

We can’t really go on without thanking the people who were part of this team or helped us create the game: the core of the team, made out of Silviu Tanasie, Dragos Tisoaica and Vlad Stoiculescu, our 3D designers Gheorghita Morar and Claudiu Mitrache, our 2D artist Diana Serban, our illustrator Roxana Vochescu, our GUI designer Mihai Simion, our 2D & logo designer Sebi Dragu, our menu designer Arsenyi Prischepa and Florin Covit, the creator of the .apk installer software.

Later Edit: The small problem on Galaxy S/Nexus S has been fixed, although on some devices the loading time might still be a little high.

Thank you!

Since it’s not long until launch, we would like to take a moment to thank all the people who supported us in this endeavour. We will dedicate a special article to the team and the people who actively contributed in developing the game.

Now, we just want to thank our social media fans and the people who donated on various platforms such as Kickstarter and Indiegogo. Although we had to pay the licenses from our own money eventually, their efforts will not be neglected.

So, thank you!

A special thank you goes to the people who donated on IndieGoGo, people such as Engineered Dream, Andrei K., Peter Eisenmann, Bogdan and Vlad. We really appreciate it!

The expected launch date…

Some of you have been asking us if the game is really that close to completion. Well, if you must know, we plan on launching at the end of this month. Yes, you’ve heard it: Uplift’s PRELIMINARY LAUNCH DATE IS THE END OF MARCH!

Stay tuned for more details and don’t forget to check our Facebook page!

Closer and closer

Here are a few samples of our latest work. The first one is a floating camera menu, a rare feature in the Android game world. The second one is an enemy bomber.

We hope you’ll enjoy them. Meanwhile, we’re going to start the second round of beta testing on higher end devices!

Still kicking

Some of you sent us e-mail asking about how the game was going.

Well, in short:

  • We’ve changed the blimp model and a few other 3D models
  • We’ve finished more than half the levels
  • We’ve programed and implemented our first enemies
  • We’ve got ourselves a new 2D animator and are trying to change some of the 2D graphics within the game.

Also, a new batch of development screenshots never hurt anyone. You might have seen some of the scenery in an earlier state of the game:

Going live on…

Hello again,

We hope you guys had a great winter holiday, just like we did. In case you were wondering how Uplift development is going, we’re back on our outposts and ready to tell you. It’s been going great!

However, in order to launch in time and also finance our little Starchaser dream, we’ve decided to promote our project on some financing sites. Although we’ve had some backers, things haven’t been going that well until now, unfortunately.

This is why we’re asking you for a little help:

If you can’t or don’t feel like pitching in, no problem. Just spread the word :)

A short greeting…
